Well Labor Day Weekend is here so I hope you are all prepared. Personally, for Labor Day I made up some chicken wing sauce and I am going to have some friends over for a few drinks, some games, and some spicy chicken. After a lot of searching on how to make wing sauce I realized most people that make it and post recipes just cheat. Hot sauce and butter is basically what everyone does with some slight variations. I wanted wing sauce from scratch. So I made one.
Start with the oil garlic and onions in a pan and cook on about medium until it starts smelling good. Add the peppers and then tomatoes and everything else. Just let it cook for a while until the veggies are all soft. I let it simmer for about an hour really trying to develop flavor. Then let it cool and puree it. I made mine a week ahead of time so that the fresh ingredients really have time to develop flavor and heat.
I plan to try to bread some chicken strips that I bought and flash fry them. After that I will sauce them and put them in the oven for a little bit then sauce some more. Can't wait for this Labor Day treat.
